Backpack Hack of the Weekβ’: Β DIY Hammock Underquilt Hack
- If you want to sleep comfortable and warm in a hammock, you need either a nice big sleeping pad like the Klymit hammock pad, or you need an underquilt that goes on the outside of the hammock that keeps you insulated.
- Weβve always just brought regular sleeping pads because we donβt have an underquiltβbut one of our boys decided to try something different
- He used a Rumpl Down Comforter and some twisty tie things from NiteIze to attach the quilt onto the underside of his hammock
- You can get the same results with a sleeping bag or other quilt. Just find a way to attach the quilt or bag under you.Β Hair ties, rope, small bungee cordsβwhatever.Β Just make sure itβs secure under your hammock.
Trail Wisdom
βSolitude is a silent storm that breaks down all our dead branches. Yet it sends out living roots deeper into the living heart of the living earth. Man struggles to find life outside himself, unaware that the life he is seeking is within him. Nature reaches out to us with welcome arms, and bids us enjoy her beauty; but we dread her silence, and rush into the crowded cities, there to huddle like sheep fleeing from a ferocious wolf.β
βKahlil Gibran
