The Rajendra Institute of Medical Sciences (Rims) in the Indian state of Jharkhand is planning to build a new critical care unit, reported The Times of India.
It is also set to open a new neurosurgery ward with 50 beds.
The hospital currently has a 45-bed critical care unit (CCU), and the new unit will be connected to the trauma centre and expand its capacity to 95 beds.
Rims director Dr R K Gupta was quoted by the publication as saying: “The construction of the new ward is being done by the building construction department and is set to be complete by January.
“The ward is nearly ready. Beds and equipment are yet to be installed. Advanced machines, including new ventilators, have been ordered.
“Once they arrive, the installation process will commence within seven days.

The hospital is also renovating its old emergency unit, turning it into an extension of the neurosurgery ward, with a ten-bed high dependency unit.
