As I like to do every year, I want to publish my top 10 list of 2023 articles that I have published on this website. It’s listed by the number of views, which is a method of showing popularity, not necessarily the quality of the writing. However, I hope all the writing is good.

Just a caveat, a couple of articles were published in earlier years, but they got a second wind for unknown reasons. It’s an accomplishment when an article was written years ago but still has staying power to get into the 2023 top 10 list.

Presenting the 2023 top 10 list

  1. The tragic passing of the son of Nick Catone – vaccines are not responsible. This was one of those articles, by Dorit Rubinstein Reiss, that was written several years ago, but for some reason, it became a target of anti-vaccine forces, which caused views to skyrocket. Nevertheless, Nick Catone’s son did not die from vaccines.
  2. “Turtles All the Way Down” repeats anti-vaccine misinformation. Dorit Rubinstein Reiss takes down a misinformed anti-vaccine book. Anti-vaxxers got upset.
  3. Pancreatic cancer mRNA vaccine shows good early results. This article reviewed a new pancreatic cancer vaccine that uses the mRNA technology found in COVID-19 vaccines. Once again, anti-vaxxers were unhappy that a new vaccine could actually save lives.
  4. Flu vaccine linked to a 40% reduction in risk of Alzheimer’s disease. The flu vaccine might reduce the risk of Alzheimer’s disease. In fact, reducing all sorts of infections seems to reduce the risk of dementia, so this result is not surprising.
  5. Starving cancer is another pseudoscientific myth. Another article that was written before 2023 made a comeback. I’m guessing it’s because the myth appeared again, and people were looking for debunking.
  6. Organic foods — are they safer and healthier? Organic foods have got to be one of the biggest health scams out there.
  7. Anthony William, aka the Medical Medium, pushes fake medicine. The quack “Medical Medium” is always good for a laugh and eye-rolling. This is another article from prior years that had a comeback in 2023.
  8. Mucoid plaques and colon detoxification junk science (UPDATED). Ewww and groan. More pseudoscientific nonsense.
  9. Steve Kirsch makes false claims about vaccine law and risks. Another article that takes down the disinformation campaign from a new anti-vaxxer on the scene. Kirsch has been an entertaining target in the anti-vaccine world although his recent foray into using stolen patient information is particularly disgusting. And no, I will not debate him.
  10. Autism and vaccines – 164 science articles say no link (UPDATED). I keep this updated list of peer-reviewed articles that show that vaccines are not linked to autism. Science rules.

On to 2024

I’m going to assume that in 2024, I will be spending more time debunking various myths surrounding vaccines. And talking about whether diet has anything to do with your health. And debunking cancer myths. And whatever else seems interesting.

I hope that you all have enjoyed my articles and are looking for more.
