Let’s talk Honda EV charge going forward. For Honda Motor Co., Ltd. has made an exciting announcement. One that it has reached an agreement with Tesla, Inc.  That’s to most excitingly to adopt Tesla’s North American Charging Standard (NACS) for the charging port of its electric vehicle (EV) models. Those most importantly that will be available for sale in North America starting from 20251.

Honda Commitment to Electric Vehicle Infrastructure

So in line with its commitment to embrace electric mobility. Moreover, Honda supporting the widespread adoption of EVs. That’s why Honda will be launching a new EV model. One that’s aLeo equipped with a NACS port in North America in 20251. This marks an important step forward for Honda. Especially as it will continue to adopt NACS standards for its future. Then the EV models in the region can charge (1).

Additionally, EV models that Honda plans to launch in North America before 2025. Those which are equipped with a Combined Charging System (CCS) port. So it will also be made compatible with the NACS. That’s most importantly through the use of a charging adaptor1.


To further enhance the charging experience for its customers, Honda has agreed to join forces with six other automakers. That’s including BMW Group, General Motors, Hyundai, Kia, Mercedes-Benz Group and also Stellantis NV. Most notably to establish a joint venture. One that’s also aimed at building a high-powered charging network. More specifically for EVs in North America(1). This collaboration will also contribute to the development of a reliable charging infrastructure. Thereby making it more convenient for EV owners to charge their vehicles on the go (1).
