C-CAMP invites applications for 7th National Bio Entrepreneurship Competition – GWC Mag






The Centre for Cellular & Molecular Platforms  (C-CAMP) has invited applications for the seventh edition of the National Bio Entrepreneurship Competition. This competition aims to discover and reward the most promising deep-tech ideas across all areas of life sciences such as health, environment, agriculture, etc.

The National Bio Entrepreneurship Competition is open to startups, budding entrepreneurs, student teams, researchers, innovators, small or medium biotech companies, or anyone with a groundbreaking idea in any aspect of Life Sciences.

First launched in 2017, the National Bio Entrepreneurship Competition has emerged as a flagship platform for bio-entrepreneurs and innovators in India to showcase their innovations in life sciences. This year’s competition invites path-breaking, revolutionary, and scalable business ideas all across all life-science domains such as:

  • Agri-tech – Plant breeding, tissue culture, micro-propagation, molecular breeding
  • Healthcare – Diagnostics, drug discovery & development of vaccines, therapeutics, biologics and plant-based therapeutics
  • Digital health – AI, machine learning, imaging, wearables, healthcare IT and other related sub-domains
  • Environment – Cleantech, renewable energy, biofuels, clean air, water, sanitation and other sub-domains
  • Industrial biotechnology – Enzymes, fermentation-based products for non-pharma purposes, bioplastics, and related sub-domains
  • Personal care – Food & nutraceuticals, including dietary supplements, and other related sub-domains

This year’s competition offers up to INR15 crore worth of cash prizes and investment opportunities for innovative startups, individuals, and students. Additionally, winners will receive guidance from prominent industry and investment professionals. Moreover, selected applicants will participate in a 2-day immersive boot camp led by experts.

C-CAMP is a part of the Department of Biotechnology under the Govt. of India’s Ministry of Science and Technology. It is also a part of the Bangalore Life Sciences Cluster. Interested participants can click here to register
