Capita’s pension errors are causing some GPs to quit practice, leaders warn – GWC Mag

GPs who are encountering persistent problems with accessing their pension information through Capita’s Primary Care Support England (PSCE) service are being driven out of practice, a conference of GP leaders has heard.

Earlier this year, The BMJ reported that many GPs are still experiencing problems with the handling of information relating to their pension contributions,1 five years after the National Audit Office identified2 failures with the service including inaccuracies and missing documents affecting GP pension records.

Last week, the annual conference of England’s local medical committees passed a motion condemning the service as “not fit for purpose,” and called for the contract to be retendered given the ongoing errors being reported.
