Coffee coconut body scrub – Green Living Ideas – GWC Mag

You can use this to exfoliate and refresh your skin. The coconut oil will provide skin hydration much as any lotion would, and the coffee grounds gently strip away dead skin when you apply this scrub with light pressure. We suggest this as a great way to reuse coffee grinds after there’s no caffeine left in them, more or less making them useless except for this body scrub! Do not use this in your bathtub or elsewhere over a drain though, as neither the coffee grinds nor the coconut oil are good for your plumbing. This is a great one for a day at the beach or the lake, or out in the yard where you can hose yourself off after.

1 cup coffee grinds (if using once-used coffee grinds, make sure to dry them out on a cookie sheet or paper towel to prolong the life of your scrub)
½ cup coconut oil, melted just enough to make it liquid (about 75 degrees F)
¼ cup sugar

Directions:

  1. Mix all ingredients. Store in an airtight and watertight container.
