Lest the legion of Star Wars faithful think the latest lineup of flashy-yet-functional winter wear was just another in a long and storied line of collab gear launches, Columbia today announced two huge promos that would make even a Stormtrooper smile.
For starters, Columbia will award one lucky winner (and a guest) a trip to Hoth βΒ the ice planet famous for the epic Imperial-Rebel battle in The Empire Strikes Back. In reality, those scenes were shot in Finse, Norway. And far from being an icy wasteland, Finse is in fact a picturesque village thatβs home to stunning mountains, fjords, and glaciers.
But thatβs not all! Columbia also partnered with Luke Skywalker himself βΒ the legendary actor Mark Hamill β to curate an extremely limited and extremely collectible line of signed Skywalker Pilot Ski Suits.
Both of these promotions begin today, so check out the full details below.
Columbia Norway Sweepstakes
Fans have between now and Nov. 29 to enter the Norway adventure sweepstakes βΒ and can do so three ways. First, head over to Instagram and follow the official Columbia account (@columbia1938). Next, βlikeβ this post from Columbia, announcing the sweepstakes. Finally, sign up for Columbiaβs Greater Rewards program β signing up is free, and earns you free shipping, cash back on purchases, and exclusive deals.
Should you win, pick your favorite adventure pal (please pick me) and enjoy paid airfare to Oslo, train fare to Finse, a $1,000 Columbia gift card, special-edition gear from Columbiaβs Skywalker Pilot Collection, and a $1,500 outdoor excursion credit. What could you possibly spend an βexcursion creditβ on, you ask? You could use it to explore the actual glacier where the battle of Hoth was originally filmed in 1980. Who knows, you might even find some Tauntaun bones!
Mark Hamill-Signed Pilot Ski Suit

If memorabilia is your game, this one is a doozy! Columbia gave Mark Hamill 20 of its new Skywalker Pilot Ski Suits βΒ read all about them on our coverage of the latest Columbia x Star Wars launch βΒ that the actor signed. Star Wars fans can attest, a John Hancock from Luke Skywalker himself is like manna from the heavens.
And like anything from the heavens, these collectorβs pieces are for a good cause. All proceeds from the sale of these signed ski suits, which will retail for $2,000 each, will help fund academic programs and scholarships selected by Hamill.
