4. Ringling Bros. Circus Returns Sans Animal Acts

After a six-year hiatus, the Ringling Bros. Circus is returning. When they ceased operations in 2017, animal advocates were ecstatic. All circus animals are inherently treated poorly. Animals like elephants, lions, and bears often suffer when they are kept as parts of circuses. Trainers may use cruel methods to force the animals to perform, animals may be kept in unsuitable habitations, and they may be kept isolated from others of their species. Conversely, some may be forced into unnaturally close proximity. All of this can cause circus animals significant emotional and physical distress.
