Doctors’ pay should reflect the cost of where they live and work, say experts – GWC Mag

Doctors need to be paid to live and work where they are needed, BMA negotiators and NHS pay analysts have said after pointing to “fundamental flaws” in the London weighting system and the way that NHS jobs are distributed.

Robert Laurenson, co-chair of the BMA junior doctors committee, said that there needed to be “a massive reform in the way that the distribution of doctors is incentivised” so that those going to work in under doctored areas are paid more.
