Fully funded PhD opportunities at Tyndall Newcastle – GWC Mag

The Water Infrastructure and Resilience (Wire) Centre for Doctoral Training is nurturing a new generation of research leaders to provide the multi-disciplinary, disruptive thinking to enhance the resilience of their water infrastructure.

They are offering a number of International Studentships with £21,000 annual living allowance, UKRI fees paid and a research training support grant:

  • Building water treatment infrastructure resilience to climate change-induced changes in freshwater sulphate concentrations (with Prof Adam Jarvis and Northumbrian Water)
  • City-scale strategies for urban drainage to regulate quantity and quality of flow (with Dr Claire Walsh and Northumbrian Water)
  • Integrated biological system design of catchment systems for non-point pollution control (with Dr Lucia Rodriguez-Freire, Newcastle University )
  • New Scour Protection Measures to Improve Bridge Resilience (with Dr Caspar Hewett, Newcastle University)
  • Persistent droughts and water supply system risk in a changing climate (with Dr Stephen Blenkinsop and United Utilities)
