Leslie Keith Harding (“Keith”) became a consultant in general medicine and nuclear medicine at Dudley Road Hospital (now known as Birmingham City Hospital) in 1973. He had an active scientific mind and his interest in the newly developing specialty of nuclear medicine grew so he became one of the early users of nuclear medicine for the diagnosis and management of patients the UK. He was closely associated with the early development of the newly established British Nuclear Medicine Society (BNMS) in 1972 and became its treasurer and then president.
