Steward Health Care To Close Hospital In Stoughton, Massachusetts – GWC Mag

Physician-led healthcare network Steward Health Care (Dallas) is planning to close New England Sinai Acute Long-Term Care And Rehabilitation Hospital (NEHS) in Stoughton, Mass., according to the website boston25news.com.

Existing patients are expected to be moved to other facilities by early April 2024.

Steward Health Care said that chronic low reimbursement rates for services provided to Medicare and Medicaid patients, as well as the loss of $22 million from NESH operations, have prevented the organization from keeping the facility open, according to press release from Steward Health.

Steward currently operates 33 hospitals across Arizona, Arkansas, Florida, Louisiana, Massachusetts, Ohio, Pennsylvania, and Texas.
