Energy Minister Bill Johnston, who launched the program, expressed his enthusiasm for the second round of funding, stating that introducing faster DC chargers offers additional benefits to eligible businesses and organisations. He emphasised the program’s focus on encouraging daytime charging, which allows EV owners to leverage solar energy, thereby aiding in grid stability. The Minister acknowledged the successful installation of chargers in regional communities, supporting local tourism, small businesses, and community service organisations.
